Déanne Germeil brings more than 15 years of legal experience to CMC, where she has volunteered since 2024 in both the immigration legal program and the monthly food distribution program. Trained as a lawyer in Haiti, she has worked with the United Nations Mission in Haiti, Haiti's Office for the Protection of Citizens, the legal department of the Haitian Consulate, and the Florida Attorney General's Office.
In CMC's immigration program, she supports legal research and case preparation, helping families through complex immigration matters. She has completed immigration law training with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) and World Relief and keeps her knowledge current through ILRC's regular immigration briefings. Fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, she serves Haitian and other immigrant families with care, patience, and clarity. She also serves on CMC's Board of Directors.
